Paul Cowell, BSc (Hons) Ccol GradDipSDC DyStar China, Hongkong Paul
Cowell has an honours degree in Chemistry from Manchester University,
England, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Textile Technology and Management.
In addition, the Society of Dyer’s and Colorists (SDC) have awarded him
Chartered Colorist status in recognition of his 15 years experience in the
coloration industry. In 1989 he joined ICI and provided technical service
and support in dyeing systems for the woven industry group. Two years
later, he moved into the research department and spent a further 10 years
synthesizing novel reactive dye molecules for application to cellulose.
After various mergers and acquisitions, including working for ICI, Zeneca
and BASF, in 2001 Paul relocated to the DyStar headquarters in
Frankfurt, Germany, where he provided global technical support for the
cellulosics department. Now based in Hong Kong, he will take
on the role of Marketing Manager for the Asia region within Colour
Solutions International, a new DyStar venture specializing in colour
communication. Current CSI program clients include Sears, Wal*Mart, Adidas, Puma, Nike, Kohls, Liz Claiborne in addition to many more.
