Argentina Expands Non-Automatic Licensing Requirements for Textiles & Apparel

Argentina has developed a comprehensive non-automatic licensing regime that covers a broad spectrum of imports. Non-automatic licences must be obtained before covered products can be imported into the country and there are reports that licences can take more than two months to be issued.

Argentinean authorities recently expanded the scope of the textile and apparel products subject to non-automatic licensing, adding the following items to the list effective from 15 November:

While the Argentinean government does not appear to have a single list with all subheadings subject to non-automatic licensing, a review of the various resolutions issued by the ministry to date indicates that the following apparel items are currently subject to this requirement:
