Foreign Skill Certification
To extend the permits of foreign workers who
have served for more than five years and deemed as skillful, an interview
and certification process is needed. The
Certification of
Foreign Workers Skills is administered by the
Jabatan
Pembangunan Kemahiran (JPK), (Department
of Skill Development).
Application for
Foreign Workers Skills
Certification must be made ONLINE via the following procedures:-

Register online
http://www.ceds-jpk.com/pkpa/home.aspx
or http://www.dsd.gov.my.

Registration should be made three months
prior to the expiration of the foreign worker’s permit;

Fill in all the required particulars;

After submitting online application,
employers have to make payment to :

Payment of RM370/per worker must be made in
the form of bank draft or postal order payable to "Ketua Pengarah
Pembangunan Kemahiran";

Attached together with the payment a copy of
the foreign worker’s passport and permit which has been duly certified by
the employer;

After registration, officer from JPK will
make appointment and come to your company to interview the foreign workers
regardless of number of workers;

Upon passing the simple interview on basic
skills, the JPK will issue the Certificates within 3 months;

Late application, incomplete forms or
submitting incorrect address /contacts will not be processed.

In the case any foreign workers fail the
interview, employers can apply again for another round of certification.
Companies are encouraged to make direct application with JPK for
Certification of
Foreign Workers Skills
instead of paying a higher fee and applying through agents. No
matter applying directly or through agents, the foreign workers still have
to undergone the simple interview process. For foreign workers who do not
speak Bahasa Malaysia, interpretation is allowed.
