Malaysia's textile and apparel exports surged 6.1 percent in August to RM1.013 billion  or 278.32 million U.S. dollars.  27.4 percent of all exports or 76.280 million U.S. dollars worth of these exports went to the U.S. market. 

In quantity terms, January through August textile and apparel exports to the U.S. were up 24.1 percent.  January through August total textile, apparel and footwear exports reached RM7.6568 billion or 2.102 billion U.S. dollars.  The U.S. has taken 23.12 percent of all exports.
