First of all, I would like to extend my gratefulness for your support and entrusted me as the 14th President of the association. I am grateful to all the past presidents especially the late Mr. Chi Kuei Yung for their great contributions. They had established firm and steadfast foundation for the association. Their efforts are traceable.

MKMA had successfully organized a 600 delegation to visit ITMA Singapore. The response shown that our fellow entrepreneurs are eager to change and upgrade themselves. Their centripetal support is laudatory.

Facing the challenging globalisation, MKMA has 2 missions lying ahead to be accomplished  within 3 years time :

  1. To raise the predominance competitiveness of the industry and country.

There is no question on the continuous improvement on competitiveness of a company. We are now unable to survive  under the strength of an individual industry. Focus should concentrate on the predominance competitiveness as a country.

  1. To exert congregate strength, business re-engineering, re-positioning to face the globalisation. When the rules of the new game is not clearly adopted yet, new paradigms are still in the process, there shall be a list of interaction. Under these turbulent environment, we shall need to explore and experiment continuously.  For example :

    1. To strive and change the unreasonable policies on upstream industry. The tax for ready made products are gradually  reducing, however, there is still a 5% tax on fibre.

    2. To simplify or eliminate the unnecessary administrative controls.

    3. Product specialization to avoid unhealthy competition.
To strengthen the collaboration between different sectors.
To rationalize production and cost. To stabilize quality and the flexibility of delivery.

    4. To encourage strategic alliance or consolidation. It will enable  large enterprises to grow and capture a bigger share of the market economy. At the same time, the human resources trained by smaller enterprises will have a chance to contribute.

    5. To explore direct overseas markets.

    6. To build up overseas network and collaborations.

May we strive forth together for a better tomorrow.
