Factory Visit to Pen
Apparel Sdn. Bhd.

On 9 April
2007, a delegation of 26 MKMA members visited Pen Apparel Sdn. Bhd.
which is located at the coastal area of Jelutong, Penang. The group was well
received by Datuk Y.H. Tan and many other senior staffs. Ms. Khoo Ai Wah
(Director) presented a brief introduction of the TAL Group followed by
bringing the delegations to a factory tour.
Pen Apparel
is a members of the TAL Group which is one of the world's leading garment
manufacturers, with an administrative headquarter in Hong Kong.
In
Malaysia, Pen Apparel started operation in 1983. The company's multi-storey
factory is fully air-conditioned and uses the latest technology and
machinery to produce quality garments for exports. It has its own research
and development centre, an accredited laboratory and training centre to
train new employees. The company also has a clinic and auto teller machine.
Besides, an eight storey hostel with facilities was built to accommodate
foreign workers.
After years
of research, Pen Apparel presented "SOFTAL" which is a proprietary
manufacturing process of producing wrinkle-free easy care garments. Now, the
company is renowned of producing thousands of wrinkle-free shirts daily from
100% cotton fabric for export to USA, EU and all parts of the world.
