Unofficial Dialogue on
Cleaner Technology
With SIRIM

Mr. Lu and Ms. Lim from The Environmental and Energy Technology
Centre of SIRIM visited Batu Pahat and held an unofficial meeting with the
representatives from dyeing factories. The participants voiced up their
problems pertaining to Cleaner Technology and waste treatment.
SIRIM will assist the industry to request for grant from the government
under the 8th Malaysian Plan for the promotion of Cleaner Technology.
On the other hand, a seminar on Cleaner Technology is tentatively fixed on 16th July 2002 at Muar, Johor. Program includes visitation to South Asia Textile (M) Sdn. Bhd. who had been selected as demonstration plant with 100% grant from JICA for installation of cleaner technology equipments.
